The company is seeking a Payroll Manager to join their team. Expect to join a positive culture and work environment, with an office on Brisbane's Southside.

The Role

Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, you will take ownership of the end-to-end payroll function for approximately 60 employees across both blue and white-collar workforces. This is a hands-on role requiring strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to confidently interpret awards and EBAs within the construction industry.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage the end-to-end weekly payroll process for approximately 60 employees across both blue- and white-collar workforces
Review and validate timesheets uploaded into Pronto by site administrators each Tuesday
Process weekly payroll runs each Thursday, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant awards and EBAs
Administer superannuation, CIRT contributions, QLeave, and other payroll-related obligations
Manage Friday payroll follow-up activities, acting as the primary point of contact for employee pay queries, payroll discrepancies, and dispute resolution
Liaise with employees, site teams, and management to ensure payroll matters are addressed efficiently
Provide payroll reporting and support to the Finance Manager as required

The Candidate:

To be successful in this role, you will have:

Previous payroll experience within the construction industry
Strong knowledge of award interpretation and EBAs
Experience managing payroll for both blue and white-collar employees
Confidence handling payroll queries, employee concerns and payroll disputes
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport across all levels of the business
High attention to detail and a commitment to payroll accuracy and compliance
Experience using Pronto or a similar ERP/payroll system will be highly regarded
