The company is seeking a Payroll Manager to join their team. Expect to join a positive culture and work environment, with an office on Brisbane's Southside.

The Role

Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, you will take ownership of the end-to-end payroll function for approximately 60 employees across both blue and white-collar workforces. This is a hands-on role requiring strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to confidently interpret awards and EBAs within the construction industry. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Manage the end-to-end weekly payroll process for approximately 60 employees across both blue- and white-collar workforces
  • Review and validate timesheets uploaded into Pronto by site administrators each Tuesday
  • Process weekly payroll runs each Thursday, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant awards and EBAs
  • Administer superannuation, CIRT contributions, QLeave, and other payroll-related obligations
  • Manage Friday payroll follow-up activities, acting as the primary point of contact for employee pay queries, payroll discrepancies, and dispute resolution
  • Liaise with employees, site teams, and management to ensure payroll matters are addressed efficiently
  • Provide payroll reporting and support to the Finance Manager as required

The Candidate:

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Previous payroll experience within the construction industry
  • Strong knowledge of award interpretation and EBAs
  • Experience managing payroll for both blue and white-collar employees
  • Confidence handling payroll queries, employee concerns and payroll disputes
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport across all levels of the business
  • High attention to detail and a commitment to payroll accuracy and compliance
  • Experience using Pronto or a similar ERP/payroll system will be highly regarded
