About the role
Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be part of a finance team responsible for supporting the accounting and reporting requirements for a large store network, including providing guidance and support to an offshore accounting team. This is a hands-on role that suits someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and partnering with stakeholders.
Key responsibilities
Manage the day-to-day accounting, analysis and financial reporting requirements for stores.
Lead, mentor, and support an offshore accounting team, including training, performance oversight, and continuous process improvement initiatives.
Act as a finance contact for stores, building strong relationships and responding to queries.
Manage the month-end close process, ensuring financial records are maintained accurately and reporting deadlines are met.
Prepare and oversee monthly lodgements, payroll and superannuation reconciliations.
Prepare year-end packs and support external accountants.
Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), policies, and process documentation.
Identify opportunities for system enhancements, automation, and process improvements to increase efficiency across finance operations.
Work collaboratively within a team environment, maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
What we're looking for
Degree qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
At least 3 years of accounting experience.
Strong understanding of Australian accounting and taxation requirements.
Excellent reconciliation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills including experience with formulas and summarising data
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
