Our client is a Queensland based engineering business, providing project support from 3D scanning & design, right through to commissioning and maintenance. With an office based in Regional Queensland, they are seeking an experienced Accounts and Payroll Officer to work from their newly located Eagle Farm office.

This position plays a critical role in the efficient and accurate administration of the payroll process, and will allow you to utilise your payroll and accounts receivable skills. Working closely with the administration team, you will have autonomy in your role which will allow you to be self motivated and driven to ensure all deadlines are met timely and accurately.

Your duties in this role will include, but not be limited to:

Answer incoming phone calls in a timely and professional manner

  • Address payroll-related inquiries and provide excellent customer service to employees

  • Data entry of timesheets from Excel into Xero ready for payroll run

  • Accurately calculating allowances and penalties, Long Service Leave, Annual leave and Personal leave

  • Running fortnightly payroll of approximately 50 employees

  • Liaising with relevant statutory and government bodies where required

  • Calculate and record payroll deductions, including taxes, benefits, and other withholdings

  • Assist employees with payroll issues, deductions, and changes to personal information

  • Onboard new employees into cloud based HR system

  • Perform accounts receivable duties including processing payments, following up outstanding payments

  • General administration duties

To be considered for this role, you will:

  • Have experience as a payroll and accounts officer (receivable in particular)

  • Possess a minimum of 3-5 years of payroll experience

  • Demonstrate a minimum of 3-5 years of accounts receivable experience

  • Have experience using MS Office, in particular Excel

  • Have intermediate level proficiency in Xero

  • Have high attention to detail

  • Take pride in completing tasks accurately

  • Be self motivated

This role is an asap start, full-time, Monday to Friday position, however Part-time will be considered for the right person.
