About the Company

Our client is an Australian subsidiary of a global leader in its sector, headquartered in Canada with over 2,000 points of service worldwide. Operating a leading franchise-based network across Australia, the business is built on a foundation of entrepreneurship and innovation and continues to grow nationally and internationally. Based at their Brisbane HQ (Geebung), this is a rare opportunity to join a high‑performing finance team that operates at both a local and global level.

The Prospect

Reporting to the Business Manager, the Financial Accountant will take full ownership of the accounting cycle across designated entities, working collaboratively with a global finance team to support the Australian market. This is a hands‑on, high‑visibility role suited to a detail‑oriented professional who thrives managing high‑volume transactional work and contributing to process improvement in a growing, dynamic business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own the trial balance and month‑end close for designated entities, ensuring accurate and timely reporting
  • Work across multiple entities and currencies, maintaining financial integrity across the global group
  • Process Accounts Payable, including corporate credit cards, and prepare transactions for approval
  • Monitor and manage aged receivables, including monthly reporting
  • Consolidate and review weekly cash flow forecasts to support strong liquidity oversight
  • Prepare and lodge required tax reports and set up payments for approval
  • Liaise with the global finance team on audit queries, accruals, and reporting requirements
  • Manage interest calculations, payments, and rollover requirements as part of budgeting activities
  • Maintain fixed asset registers, including depreciation schedules
  • Support the operations team with financial analysis and accounting advice for the franchise network
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen processes, improve efficiency, and enhance financial controls
What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline, and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Intermediate experience in business accounting
  • Strong knowledge of the complete accounting cycle
  • Experience with intercompany eliminations and multi‑currency environments
  • Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in accounting systems
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Business Central 365 — highly regarded
  • Experience in franchising — an advantage
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage high‑volume transactional work
