Utility - Site Support

Sibanye Stillwater Australia, a subsidiary of Sibanye Stillwater Limited (a multinational mining and metals processing group), is a leading mining, tailings management, and economic rehabilitation company. Our flagship Century project in Queensland stands as Australia's largest tailings remining and processing operation.

A rewarding opportunity currently exists for a Utility (Site Support) to join our Sibanye Stillwater Australia team.

This position will be offered as a 15 days on/13-days off FIFO shift working roster, located at our Century Mine (Lawn Hill). 

Key accountabilities will include:

• Accommodation and site cleaning duties to a high standard

• Kitchen hand/dining room attendant duties to a high standard

• Laundry attendant duties to a high standard

• Bar attendant duties to a high standard

• Ensuring that all tasks are performed to a high standard, and with due regard for all health and safety, and food safety, regulations.

• Ensuring that effective stock rotation and preparation practices are maintained, to minimise wastage of food and other stock, which directly impacts on operational costs.

• Developing and maintaining effective business relationships with internal and external stakeholders

Ideally, applicants will possess the following OCs as required to the high standard required and ensuring all policies and procedures are following correctly. technical skills, knowledge, and qualifications:

Technical:

• Sound Food and Occupational Safety knowledge and compliance;

• Sound written and verbal communication skills;

• Ability to set and manage priorities;

• Ability to multi-task        

People:

• Effective communicator 

• Customer focus

• Ability to work productively individually or in a team, to complete time-critical tasks

Knowledge:

• Remote village operations including food services, food safety, room cleaning/housekeeping services standards, and commercial laundry operations.

• Bar and retail operations legislation, regulations and standards

• Aerodrome ground support operations

Experience:

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in remote village operations, preferably FIFO, highly valued

• Experience complying with policies, procedures and systems associated with mine sites and village operations, in particular food safety and employee safety advantageous

• Experience in working individually and in a team environment.

• Experience in bar/retail operations desirable

• Experience in airport ground support operations highly valued

Education, Qualifications, Tickets and/or Licences:  

• Basic Food Handler certificate

• Current C Class (or greater) Driver’s license (Manual) – Essential

• Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificate
