This is a finance leadership role with real operational breadth and a genuine reason to come to work.
We are a national, purpose-driven Group with a 38-year history. Operating across multiple states through a group of complementary brands spanning employment, accredited training, and recruitment we are leaders in our industry.
This is a newly structured senior role that carries the full scope and authority of the finance leadership function supported by an established team. If you are looking for a seat at the leadership table in a growing organisation that genuinely means something, read on.
About the role
As Head of Finance, you will hold full accountability for the Group's finance and payroll services function across financial reporting, budgeting, audit, statutory compliance, working capital, and the integrity of internal controls across all Group entities.
You will work directly with the CEO and COO with exposure to the Finance and Audit Committee of the Board.
This is not a back-office role. Our finance team is an active internal service provider supplying operational staff with outputs to drive growth and operational excellence. In addition to the core financial accounting function, you will have oversight of the payroll function servicing a range of Modern Awards and EBAs.
Alongside Finance, you will hold operational leadership of our training programs business unit. The focus here is revenue growth from a small but established base and tight margin protection. This is a portfolio that rounds out your leadership scope and provides a meaningful commercial development opportunity within the Group.
What you will be responsible for
Full ownership of Group financial management: budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and audit.
Board and Finance & Audit Committee reporting.
Oversight of dual payroll services.
Accounts receivable including government incentive payments and wage subsidies; accounts payable; asset and fleet management.
Business partnering with the COO, CEO, and leadership team with financial advice, business cases, pricing strategy.
Operational leadership of the training programs unit.
Leading, coaching and developing a team.
What we are looking for
10+ years managing a finance function and team.
Current CPA or CA membership undergraduate qualification in business or accounting.
Genuine hands-on leader who will produce outputs alongside the team, not just direct from above.
Solid knowledge of modern Awards, payroll, and IR or a demonstrated record of getting across detailed compliance environments.
Experience with Xero and Astute Payroll is advantageous; intermediate to advanced Excel is expected.
Prior exposure to not-for-profit governance, Board or audit committee reporting is desirable.
What makes this role different?
You are the most senior finance person in the Group with access and influence.
You inherit a capable team and a well-established finance function with room to improve and grow.
The training unit portfolio gives you operational leadership scope beyond a pure finance brief.
You will work inside a purpose-driven organisation with a 38-year track record.
Genuine career development opportunity.
Submit your CV and a brief cover letter addressing your experience. Applications are reviewed as received. For a confidential discussion, contact Group HR on 0409 346 ***.
