The Role

Our Queensland Government client is seeking someone looking for a career within the Department!

Become part of a high-volume team, within a supportive Housing Service Centre environment. In this position, you will deliver a wide range of applicant, tenancy, and property management services, along with advice to customers with complex needs.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Oversee property maintenance and carry out property inspections.
  • Maintain precise customer and property records using the Microsoft Suite and internal systems, ensuring a high level of accuracy
  • Handle tenancy arrangements, allocations, tenancy changes and vacancies while liaising with other housing providers to ensure departmental compliance
  • Assist customers in person and over the phone, conduct intake interviews, make referrals to support services and assess applications for social housing and private housing assistance
  • Monitor and manage rent and maintenance arrears, complete rent assessments, establish payment plans, and process refunds and collections
  • Conduct property visits, investigate tenancy disputes and complaint and support their resolution
  
You

The successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrate strong empathy, and have experience in a customer-facing role. You will be able to demonstrate the following:
  • Proven experience in customer service (telephone and/or face-to-face)
  • Previous experience in the community services sector is highly desirable
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to de-escalate situations
  • Ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced setting with strong attention to detail
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, with the ability to quickly learn new systems
  • High levels of confidentiality, empathy, and resilience when supporting vulnerable customers
  • A National Criminal History check is required prior to placement
  • A current driver’s licence is required
