Our Mackay facility plays a critical role in supporting customers throughout Queensland, delivering OEM-standard rebuilds backed by experienced tradespeople, modern equipment, and a commitment to quality.

Due to continued growth and increased workload, we are seeking an experienced Component Rebuild Fitter to join our Mackay team.

About the Role

Working within our component rebuild workshop, you will be responsible for stripping, inspecting, assessing, rebuilding, and assembling major mining components to OEM standards.

This is workshop-based rebuild work, not field service or breakdown maintenance. You'll be involved in complete rebuilds from strip-down through to final assembly, delivering the quality and reliability our customers expect.

What You'll Be Working On

You'll be involved in the rebuild and overhaul of major mining equipment and components including:

• CAT D10 and D11 Dozers

• Mining Haul Trucks

• Graders

• Large mining machine components and assemblies

Key Responsibilities

• Strip, inspect and rebuild mining components to OEM specifications

• Assess component condition and determine reusability

• Perform detailed inspections and fault finding

• Measure and assess components for wear and tolerance

• Complete precision fitting and assembly work

• Maintain high quality standards throughout the rebuild process

• Follow workshop procedures and OEM rebuild guidelines

• Complete required documentation and reporting

• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives

• Work safely and collaboratively within the team

About You

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

• Trade qualification as a Diesel Fitter, Plant Mechanic or similar

• Previous experience rebuilding heavy equipment or mining components

• Caterpillar component experience highly regarded

• Strong mechanical aptitude and fault-finding skills

• High attention to detail and commitment to quality

• Pride in workmanship and ownership of your work

• Positive attitude and strong work ethic

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Current Australian Driver Licence

• Forklift licence highly regarded
