We are building a strong pool of support workers to meet the increasing demand for quality supports across community access, in-home supports, daily living assistance, respite, and Supported Independent Living (SIL) services.

Position: Disability Support Worker (Casual)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide person-centred support to NDIS participants in their homes and within the community.

• Assist with personal care, including showering, dressing, grooming and other daily living activities.

• Support participants to access their community, attend appointments, build social connections and participate in activities of their choice.

• Assist with meal preparation, domestic duties and maintaining a safe and comfortable home environment.

• Implement support plans, behaviour support strategies and other participant-specific requirements.

• Complete accurate documentation, progress notes and incident reporting as required.

• Promote participant independence, dignity, choice and control at all times.

• Work collaboratively with participants, families, allied health professionals and the broader support team.

Requirements

Mandatory

• Current NDIS Worker Screening Clearance.

• Current Blue Card (Working with Children Check).

• Current Queensland Driver Licence.

• Reliable, comprehensively insured vehicle.

• Current First Aid and CPR Certificate.

• NDIS Worker Orientation Module (or willingness to complete).

• Current Medication Administration Certificate (or willingness to obtain).

• Current Infection Control Certificate (or willingness to obtain).

• Availability to work a variety of shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, sleepovers and public holidays.

Highly Desirable

• Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Disability, Community Services or a related field.

• Previous experience supporting people with disability.

• Experience implementing Positive Behaviour Support Plans (PBSP).

• Experience supporting participants with complex support needs, psychosocial disabilities, ASD, intellectual disability or high-intensity support requirements.

• Experience with manual handling, hoist transfers and personal care.

• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

• A positive attitude, reliability and a genuine passion for supporting people to live their best lives.
