Full time
Founded in 1995, Formline set out to create a better way to build.
Over the past 30 years, we’ve grown into a national strategy, design, and build partner for growth-minded business owners and developers. More than a builder, we’re a trusted partner — ensuring our clients feel confident and cared for through every stage of the journey.
In this role, we’re looking for a Construction Cadet who shares our belief in growth by better — someone who is eager to learn, get hands-on experience, and build a long-term career in construction.
THE ROLE: CONSTRUCTION CADET
Based primarily on site, you will work closely with the Site Manager, Project Manager, HSEQ Coordinator, and subcontractors to support the day-to-day delivery of construction projects.
This is a full-time role with a structured 2-year cadet development program, designed to give you practical, hands-on experience across site delivery, safety, quality, coordination, and project management. As part of the program, you will be supported with up to one day per week dedicated to study towards a relevant construction qualification.
With head office in Tamworth NSW, you will also spend time on construction sites in NSW and QLD.
This role is ideal for someone who wants to learn construction from the ground up, gain real site experience, and build a long-term career in construction.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Support day-to-day site delivery: assist the Site Manager and Project Manager with site coordination, planning, and follow-up.
Work closely with trades and subcontractors: help coordinate site activities, materials, access, deliveries, and communication.
Assist with safety and site compliance: support inductions, toolbox talks, safety checks, site records, and general HSEQ requirements.
Track site progress: help monitor works completed, upcoming activities, issues, photos, and project updates.
Learn to read drawings and scopes: build your understanding of plans, specifications, construction details, and trade requirements.
Support quality outcomes: assist with inspections, defect tracking, checklists, records, and handover preparation.
Participate in site meetings: attend site walks, subcontractor meetings, toolbox talks, and project coordination discussions.
Gain broad project exposure: learn how construction projects move from planning and procurement through to delivery and handover.
WHO YOU ARE
Values-first: see below – #1 at Formline and these define how we work and grow together
Positive and eager to learn: you bring good energy, a strong attitude, and are motivated to build a career in construction.
Practical and hands-on: you enjoy being on site, learning from experienced people, and getting involved.
Reliable and organised: you follow through on tasks, take responsibility, and communicate clearly.
Quick learner: you take direction well, ask good questions, and are willing to improve.
Team focused: you are helpful, humble, safety conscious, and willing to support the team wherever needed.
