Job Description

This is a permanent, part‑time position. You will be supported by a Director of Service and will play a key role in delivering quality care.

Service Location

Ascot, QLD 4007. The service includes Early Learning Centre children, so a Diploma of Early Childhood Education or a working towards one is required.

Shifts

Monday to Friday: 2:15 pm – 6:00 pm (25 hours per week).

The Role – Ready to Grow Your Leadership?

As Second in Charge (2IC) you will lead daily care activities, support the Director of Service and ensure compliance with all regulations.

Responsibilities

• Engage with the school community, attending events and assemblies.
• Assist with the creation and implementation of enriching experiences tailored to children’s preferences.
• Foster genuine relationships with children and their families.
• Play and provide engaging activities for primary‑school aged children.
• Ensure program compliance with industry regulations.

The Successful Candidate

• Has or is working towards a Diploma of Early Childhood Education (as per ACECQA standards).
• Can be trained into Before and After School Care or education roles.
• Thives in a fast‑paced environment and maintains a positive, can‑do attitude.
• Communicates confidently with children, parents, team members and school principals.
• Is a strong team player with excellent problem‑solving skills.
• Is passionate about creating enriching experiences for primary‑aged children.
• Is energetic, enthusiastic and loves engaging with children.
• Will complete mandatory National Child Safety Training through Geccko before commencement.
