NewDirection Care is the world’s first and only microtown, a small-scale living residential aged care community based in Bellmere, 45mins North of Brisbane CBD. Our 120 residents live in 17 fully functioning domestic-style houses, with just 7 residents per house.

We are seeking part-time House Companion™ Support Workers to join our dynamic and close-knit team. 

We have the following shifts available: Morning and Afternoon shifts.

About the role

The main responsibilities of the role are to:

  • Provide personal cares for our residents including toileting, showering and shaving
  • Supporting our residents, with the assistance of your team, in achieving all activities in relation to daily living - including personal cares, the preparation and cooking of meals, cleaning and laundry with a focus on enabling independence
  • Manual handling tasks including transfers of residents
  • Support all household activities including coordinating appointments, family conferences and referring to Registered nurses as required
  • Coordinate and manage a house diary based on residents personal choices
  • Support our accreditation standards by providing thorough, accurate and timely documentation

What we are looking for 

  • People who are enthusiastic, reliable, and passionate about delivering person centered care 
  • Excellent People and communication skills 
  • Cert III in aged care is not necessary but a strong desire for continuous learning is a must
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and adaptable environment

Requirements

  • Annual influenza vaccination 
  • 2x COVID 19 Vaccination plus 1x Booster Shot (total of 3)
  • NDIS Workers Screen Clearance
