Faith Lutheran College, Plainland is seeking an exceptional and visionary educational leader to join our Executive Leadership Team as Deputy Principal (Education) on a 5-year fixed term contract.

Located in the heart of the Lockyer Valley, Faith Lutheran College is a thriving co-educational school of more than 850 students, known for its innovative, future-focused approach to learning and strong Christ-centred culture.

The Role
Reporting to the Principal, the Deputy Principal (Education) is a key Executive leader responsible for:
Strategic leadership
Teaching, learning and curriculum leadership
Innovation, contemporary learning practices and environment
Teacher and leadership development
Student wellbeing, inclusion and pastoral support in learning
Governance, quality assurance and compliance
Resource and environment leadership
Community and stakeholder engagement
Whole of College leadership
This role will lead the development of a coherent, research-informed and Christ-centred approach to learning that enables every student to flourish academically, personally and spiritually.
A Unique Executive Structure
This position works in close partnership with a complementary Executive role:
Deputy Principal (College Life).
Together, these two Deputy Principals provide holistic leadership across the College:
The Deputy Principal (Education) leads the educational strategy, pedagogy and learning culture.
The Deputy Principal (College Life) leads culture, wellbeing, operations, co-curricular programs, and the lived experience of College life.
This intentional structure ensures a deeply aligned and integrated approach to both learning and the broader student and staff experience.
Selection Criteria
The successful applicant will demonstrate:
Relevant tertiary qualifications in Education.
Postgraduate qualifications in educational leadership, curriculum, or a related field.
Current registration (or eligibility for registration) with the Queensland College of Teachers, and a demonstrated commitment to contemporary professional practice.
Proven experience leading whole-school improvement in teaching, learning, curriculum, and student wellbeing within a complex P–12 or secondary environment.
A research-informed, future-focused approach to education, with the ability to embed contemporary pedagogy, innovation, and data-informed practice to improve student outcomes.
Demonstrated capacity to lead, develop, and inspire high-performing teams, building a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Strong strategic and operational leadership, with the ability to lead change, manage complexity, and translate vision into sustainable practice.
Highly developed interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build trust across diverse communities.
A deep commitment to Christian education and the Lutheran ethos, with a clear passion for ensuring all students and staff flourish in a Christ-centred learning community.
