Our client is an Australian based technology & engineering company, primarily focused on providing innovative Decarbonisation and energy solutions for the mining and resources industry.
They are seeking an experienced and strategically minded Engineering Manager to lead the Mechanical Engineering team based in Brisbane.

The purpose of this role is as follows:

  • To lead a team of specialist engineers in the development of dual fuel systems in the form of refueling facilities as well as on transport, primarily for the mining industry, and with CNG.
  • To coordinate with colleagues to deploy dual fuel truck solutions to clients in the mining industry. 
  • To respond to internal customers being the US Ops and Production Manager as well as the Project Manager and coordinate the timely delivery of on-engine hardware and gas fueling solutions to end-use customers in the field.  This will require travel to mine sites and oil & gas fields both within Australia and globally.
  • Ensure the fueling solutions for dual fuel transport is implemented.

General Responsibilities

  • Leading and developing the design team for vehicle packaging to ensure the achievement of quality, completion and specified objectives.
  • Understanding and use of Australian and International standards for application to equipment design.
  • Using CAD software (SolidWorks etc.) to develop new designs and to improve existing designs and documentation with ability to lead others in design process and maintenance of drawing systems
  • Creating engineering documentation including manufacturing drawings, test procedures, written instructions, QA documentation, specifications, data sheets, reports and manuals.
  • Assisting with the release and control of engineering documentation.
  • Supporting BOM and documentation release work for product designs.
  • Developing CAD workflow for implementation to manufacturing and inventory database.
  • Working closely with internal and external workshops to construct cutting truck equipment.
  • Assisting with engaging equipment OEMs to validate designs and operation of equipment.
Job knowledge, skills, and experience:
  • Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering.
  • 5 -15 + year’s years’ experience in design, manufacturing, testing and installation.
  • The ability to apply engineering computations to ensure designs meets all required specifications and standards.
  • Expertise in SolidWorks 3D CAD, with analysis pack for performing finite element analysis.
  • Experience with mining equipment and/or gas equipment.
  • RPEQ qualification or equivalent is desirable, but not essential
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Self-motivated and able to work autonomously in a creative, fast-moving environment.
  • Experience in Developing, Coaching and mentoring others
