Are you an experienced Mechanical Designer with strong project management skills and advanced Autodesk Inventor expertise?

Drilltechniques Service Pty Ltd is seeking a motivated and capable Mechanical Designer / Project Manager to join our growing team in Brendale, Queensland.

This is a unique opportunity to work on specialised drilling, grouting, and support equipment projects, taking concepts from design through to manufacture, installation, and commissioning.

The Role

Reporting directly to management, you will be responsible for both mechanical design and project delivery, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, on time, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create detailed 3D models and manufacturing drawings using Autodesk Inventor

  • Design mechanical systems, components, assemblies, and equipment modifications

  • Develop fabrication and assembly documentation

  • Manage projects from concept, quotation, and design through to manufacture and commissioning

  • Liaise with customers, suppliers, workshop personnel, and contractors

  • Coordinate procurement of materials and components

  • Monitor project schedules, budgets, and deliverables

  • Conduct site visits and provide technical support when required

  • Ensure compliance with relevant Australian Standards and engineering best practices

  • Drive continuous improvement in design and project execution processes

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

Essential
  • Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Inventor

  • Mechanical design experience in heavy equipment, mining, construction, manufacturing, or related industries

  • Strong project management and organisational skills

  • Ability to interpret engineering specifications and technical drawings

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities

  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Desirable
  • Mechanical Engineering qualification or equivalent industry experience

  • Experience with hydraulic systems and mobile equipment

  • Experience designing fabricated steel structures and machinery

  • Familiarity with ERP systems and project costing

  • Knowledge of drilling, grouting, mining, or construction equipment
