This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced engineer to contribute to the provision and life cycle management of new and upgraded health infrastructure. Projects will require engagement with multiple disciplines (clinical, operational, and technical), range in scale (minor to major) and require engagement with a wide range of building related engineering specialities (for example electrical, HVAC and fire).

Experience in building infrastructure, plant and systems that is typically found in health service delivery will be viewed favourably. West Moreton Health is also building on existing engineering and asset management systems and experience in the management and/or exposure to such systems will be an advantage.

Mechanical and Electrical engineers are especially encouraged to apply, other experienced engineers will also be considered.

About the role

This position supports the Sustainability, Infrastructure and Assets workgroup in the provision of timely and appropriate professional engineering services to further the development of whole of life cycle asset management for West Moreton Health. The position does not have involve the direct supervision of staff but will require taking a lead role in engaging with a wide range of stakeholders in scoping and managing projects and providing engineering advice.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:

  • High level capability and performance working in an engineering planning and high growth environment in developing Infrastructure Master Plans, Asset Management Plans, Asset Life Cycle Plans, Maintenance Plans and performance evaluations for complex building assets to achieve required standards of service, efficient asset utilisation, asset improvements and lowest whole of life cost. 
  • High level capability and performance in providing technical specifications, scopes of work and design criteria to assist in the preparation and administration of contract documents for the procurement of services and equipment.
  • Capability in the implementation of a quality assurance program on all engineering activities including safe methods of work, engineering documentation and drawings to achieve alignment to ISO 55000.

Mandatory Requirements:

  • A degree from a tertiary institution in a relevant engineering discipline is mandatory.
  • Eligibility to be a member of the Institute of Engineers Australia is mandatory.
  • Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16
