Senior Electrical Engineer

The Role:

Join GGC as a hands-on Senior Electrical Engineer to lead electrical design and engineering decision-making for our major infrastructure projects. You will guide internal and external engineering teams, manage SME inputs, and ensure all design scopes align perfectly with project requirements.

This critical role bridges the gap between pre-contracts concept design and project delivery, requiring close collaboration with Project Managers, Construction Managers, and Project Engineers. You will actively engage with clients to develop economic, fit-for-purpose solutions, while simultaneously building GGC’s engineering systems, tools, and decision-making frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive Precontracts & Sales: Partner with clients and precontracts teams to develop fit-for-purpose, fully costed, and well-scoped solution options.

• Own Design Delivery: Act as the single point of contact and ultimate owner for all assigned project design performance and delivery.

• Provide Technical Leadership: Guide multi-disciplinary electrical infrastructure projects under the direct oversight of the General Manager Engineering.

• Apply Advanced Engineering: Lead critical power systems design studies, including power flow, fault, protection, and earthing analysis.

• Ensure Smooth Handovers: Seamlessly transfer knowledge and design deliverables to delivery teams while monitoring progress and resolving issues.

• Standardise & Innovate: Develop design templates, integrate new competitive technologies, and strictly uphold health, safety, environment, and compliance standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering

• Registration as Professional Engineer Queensland (RPEQ) is required for appointment into this position and successful candidate will need to attain registration as a Professional Engineer in Queensland (RPEQ) or hold CP Eng and be eligible to obtain RPEQ Status.

• Solid understanding of HV design principles with the ability to deliver accurate, compliant, and fit-for-purpose engineering solutions.
