Salary Range: (BAND 6) $116,089 to $128,453 + super

Location: Eagle Farm – Regional Operations Centre

  • Exposure to a wide variety of projects within Australia’s largest Council
  • Ensure assurance mechanisms and ongoing compliance with legislative requirements
  • Exposure to working in an ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certified organisation

​​The Role

Reporting to the Environmental Management Coordinator, the Environmental Management Officer will actively coordinate and contribute to the environmental performance of the HSEQ branch to effectively improve and maintain certified Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and ensure compliance with relevant legislation in addition to providing a full range of professional environmental advisory services.

To be successful you will have:

  • proven ability to conduct environmental risk assessments, compile environmental management plans, implementation and auditing of environmental management processes and plans
  • demonstrated knowledge, interpretation and implementation of environmental legislation, and associated standards and processes
  • ability to assist with incident response, including participating in an on-call roster
  • proven experience in administering, developing, implementing, auditing and integrating EMS, aptitude to identify new technologies and practices in order to improve the sustainability of Council activities.
