About this role

Sunnybank Private Hospital is seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse – Recovery / PACU to join our Operating Theatre. You will play a key role within a supportive team in ensuring high levels of patient care are provided.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise safe, quality care that meets current best practice standards.
  • Support and liaise with the Perioperative Services Manager, Nurse Unit Manager, staff and VMO anaesthetist.
  • Understand legislative requirements, ACORN, and sterilisation standards.
  • Knowledge of accreditation processes and Quality/Risk Management.
  • Maintain current registration with AHPRA.
  • Have previous experience in a Clinical Nurse / Recovery / PACU role, or be practising as an anaesthetic nurse for more than 3–4 years in a team leader role.
  • Have completed a relevant postgraduate qualification or commit to commence within 12 months of appointment.
  • Commitment to quality patient care.
  • Compliance with NSQHC national standards.
  • Sound clinical decision‑making and problem‑solving skills.
  • Experience in a similar position (desired).
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Highly organised and strong ability to prioritise tasks.

Remuneration

Salary based on years of relevant nursing experience against the current nursing Enterprise Agreement: $41.49 – $66.23 per hour.

Applicants will be required to provide a current National Police check, WWCC (where applicable) and evidence of right to work in Australia prior to appointment. Staff in patient‑contact roles must provide proof of immunity to specified infectious diseases as a Category A Healthcare worker.
