Join Pathology Queensland and play a vital role in supporting diagnostic services for the Central Highlands community. This hands-on opportunity combines specimen collection, pathology support and laboratory operations, making a direct contribution to patient care while building valuable healthcare skills in a regional setting.
The purpose of this role is to provide pathology support services through specimen collection, specimen reception, laboratory processing and referral activities, ensuring the accurate and timely delivery of diagnostic services to patients and clinicians.
What you'll do
In this role you will collect blood specimens from inpatients and outpatients, perform specimen reception and registration activities, process and prepare samples for analysis and referral testing, maintain accurate laboratory records and data entry systems, support stores and inventory functions, assist with quality control activities, operate within specimen reception and clinical pathology workflows, liaise with patients and healthcare professionals, and contribute to the efficient operation of pathology services across the Emerald laboratory.
