Salute for Service is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychologist to join our team in Brisbane, QLD 4000. This is a full-time position that plays a vital role in providing psychological support and therapeutic services to our clients.
As a Psychologist, you will be delivering evidence-based interventions, comprehensive assessments, treatment planning, and ongoing clinical care, while contributing to holistic outcomes through collaboration with social work, allied health professionals, and vocational support services.
Services are delivered through a combination of face-to-face and telehealth appointments, with flexibility to work across our Woolloongabba and Enoggera clinic locations.

What you'll be doing
Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments, risk assessments, and formulation of treatment plans for veterans and their families.
Deliver evidence-based psychological treatment and therapeutic interventions for a broad range of mental health presentations, including trauma, PTSD, anxiety, depression, adjustment difficulties, relationship concerns, and transition-related stress.
Provide individual counselling and psychological interventions in accordance with DVA, AHPRA, and evidence-based practice frameworks.
Deliver services through a combination of face-to-face and telehealth appointments, with flexibility to work across our Woolloongabba and Enoggera clinic locations.
Collaborate with social workers, career coaches, external providers, and allied health professionals to support holistic client outcomes.
Support veterans navigating transition to civilian life through adjustment support, resilience-building strategies, and where appropriate, vocational guidance and career planning.
Assist veterans experiencing financial stress by integrating psychological strategies with broader psychosocial, welfare, and financial support services.
Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical records, treatment plans, reports, and correspondence in line with DVA, AHPRA, and organisational requirements.
Participate in multidisciplinary case reviews, clinical discussions, and service planning activities.
Contribute to program development, quality improvement initiatives, and evaluation activities to ensure services remain innovative, evidence-based, and responsive to veteran needs.
Current unrestricted General Registration as a Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
Eligibility to provide psychological services within Australia.
A recognised tertiary qualification in Psychology.
Demonstrated experience delivering psychological assessments, evidence-based interventions, and therapeutic support across a range of mental health presentations.
Strong clinical skills in assessment, formulation, risk management, treatment planning, and report writing.
Experience working with trauma, PTSD, anxiety, depression, adjustment difficulties, and complex psychosocial presentations.
Ability to deliver services both face-to-face and via telehealth.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage effectively with veterans, families, and other stakeholders.
Ability to work independently while collaborating within a multidisciplinary team.
Strong organisational and time management skills, including the ability to manage a diverse caseload and maintain accurate clinical records.
Commitment to ongoing professional development and adherence to professional, ethical, and legislative requirements.
Current Australian Driver Licence.
Endorsement as a Clinical Psychologist or eligibility to work towards endorsement.
Experience working with veterans, serving members, first responders, or other trauma-exposed populations.
Experience working within DVA, WorkCover, Medicare, or other compensable funding schemes.
Understanding of military culture and the challenges associated with service-related transition, injury, and wellbeing.
