About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Barista to join the Bella deli portside team in Hamilton, QLD. This is a full-time position that plays a vital role in delivering exceptional customer experiences and maintaining the high standards our guests expect. As a Barista, you will be the face of our coffee culture, crafting quality beverages and building meaningful connections with our customers in a fast-paced, dynamic hospitality environment.

What you'll be doing

1. Preparing and serving high-quality espresso-based drinks, speciality coffees, and other beverages with precision and consistency

2. Operating and maintaining espresso machines, grinders, and other coffee equipment to ensure optimal performance and hygiene standards

3. Taking customer orders efficiently and accurately, whilst providing knowledgeable recommendations about our menu offerings

4. Creating a welcoming and engaging atmosphere by delivering friendly, professional customer service to all guests

5. Maintaining a clean, organised, and hygienic work station and bar area in accordance with food safety regulations

6. Managing stock levels of coffee beans, milk, syrups, and other beverage ingredients, raising alerts when restocking is needed

7. Processing payments and managing the till accurately

8. Working collaboratively with front-of-house and kitchen teams to ensure seamless service delivery

9. Staying updated on seasonal menu items and new beverage techniques to continually enhance our offerings

What we're looking for

1. Certification in barista skills or equivalent hands-on experience in a busy café or hospitality environment

2. Proficiency in using espresso machines and knowledge of coffee extraction, grind sizes, and milk frothing techniques

3. Strong customer service skills with the ability to build rapport and handle customer interactions professionally

4. Excellent attention to detail and commitment to consistency in drink quality

5. Ability to work efficiently under pressure during peak service times

6. Good hygiene and food safety awareness

7. Flexibility to work various shifts, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends as required

8. Strong communication and teamwork skills

9. A genuine passion for coffee and hospitality

10. Current RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol) certification is preferred
