About the role
You will be part of a team, working alongside two HR Advisors and an HSE Coordinator to support managers and employees across the Mackays Group.
You will also support the delivery of Human Resources and Health, Safety & Environmental initiatives. This is a varied and hands-on role where you will work closely with managers and employees to promote a positive workplace culture while ensuring compliance with HR, safety, and environmental requirements.
You will play a key role in recruitment, employee relations, training, workplace safety, incident management, compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives across the business. This is a permanent full-time position offering long-term stability and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact across our operations.
Key Responsibilities
Provide HR advice and support to managers and employees across the business
Coordinate recruitment, onboarding, and employee induction processes
Assist with employee relations, performance management, and workplace investigations
Maintain employee records, HR systems, and compliance documentation
Coordinate training programs, workforce development initiatives, and employee engagement activities
Develop, implement, and monitor workplace health and safety policies, procedures, and programs
Conduct workplace inspections, risk assessments, and hazard identification activities
Lead incident investigations and implement corrective and preventative actions
Manage workers compensation, rehabilitation, and return-to-work processes
Facilitate safety training, toolbox talks, and compliance programs
Monitor environmental compliance requirements and assist with audits and reporting
Analyse HR and HSE data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement
Skills & Experience
Experience in Human Resources, Workplace Health & Safety, or similar
Knowledge of Australian employment legislation and workplace health and safety regulations
Strong employee relations and stakeholder management skills
Excellent organisational, communication, and problem-solving abilities
High level of computer literacy and experience with HR systems and reporting
Relevant qualifications in Human Resources, Workplace Health & Safety, Business, or a related field preferred
Current Australian driver's licence
