Who We Are
Affinity Nursing is a market leader in regional, rural and remote travel nursing and a contracted supplier to health departments nationally. We are a founder-led business based in Woolloongabba with a team of approximately 50–100 employees.

This hands-on, part-time role is ideal for someone who is practical, collaborative and confident supporting leaders through performance matters, workplace challenges and ongoing business change.

Working closely with our CEO, Team Leaders and Managers, the primary focus of this role is coaching leaders, building capability and supporting managers to confidently navigate people matters and change. This is not a traditional HR administration role.

About the Role
You will support leaders across a range of employee relations matters, including performance, workplace conduct, team dynamics, wellbeing concerns and difficult conversations.

You will help leaders identify appropriate pathways, prepare for conversations, document matters effectively and manage risk appropriately. As change is a regular part of our business, you will also support leaders and employees through the people impacts of change, including uncertainty, resistance, wellbeing challenges and communication needs.

 Key Responsibilities 
 
Coaching, Training and Capability 

  • Create and deliver quarterly company-wide sessions focused on resilience, communication, workplace expectations and navigating change

  • Coach managers through performance, communication and change-related conversations, while delivering targeted leadership coaching and training aligned to business needs

  • Support leaders with the people impact of change, including employee concerns, resistance, wellbeing impacts and performance issues

  • Support appropriate EAP referral pathways and wellbeing-related workplace responses

Employee Relations, Performance and Conduct 

  • Provide practical HR and employee relations advice to Team Leaders, Managers and senior leadership  

  • Support leaders with performance management, conduct concerns, workplace conflict, complaints and wellbeing related matters

  • Support restructure, redundancy and organisational change processes where required

  • Help leaders balance care and empathy with clear expectations and accountability

 Documentation, Escalation and Risk Management 

  • Assist with preparation of meeting notes, performance expectations, performance improvement plans and follow up documentation

  • Provide guidance on appropriate documentation, escalation and risk management

  • Identify when matters need to be escalated to the CEO, COO, external HR/legal support or EAP

  • Liaise with external HR/legal advisors where required

You Will Bring 

  • 10+ years experience in HR, People & Culture, Employee Relations or a similar role

  • Experience supporting managers through complex performance, conduct, conflict and wellbeing matters 

  • Sound knowledge of Fair Work and HR documentation requirements 

  • Working knowledge of psychosocial safety obligations under WHS legislation, including identifying hazards, prevention and response 

  • Strong judgement, discretion and the ability to prepare clear, factual, balanced documentation 

  • Experience delivering practical training and capability sessions 

 Highly Regarded 

  • Experience working in a fast-paced or regularly changing business environment 

  • Experience working in a small to medium founder-lead business

  • Experience creating manager guides, scripts, templates or HR toolkits
