At Michael Hill, reward is more than remuneration, t’s how we recognise contribution, drive performance, and create an exceptional employee experience.

We’re looking for a commercially minded Remuneration & Benefits Specialist to take full ownership of reward across multiple regions, partnering closely with senior leaders to shape how we attract, retain and reward our people.

Operating as a true subject matter expert, you’ll lead critical remuneration activities end-to-end; from annual review cycles through to executive reporting, with the autonomy and influence to make a real impact.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead the end-to-end annual remuneration review cycle (AU/NZ/CA).
  • Prepare Board and Executive remuneration reporting and insights.
  • Drive market benchmarking, salary frameworks and governance.
  • Design and manage reward programs, including STI & LTI frameworks.
  • Advise leaders on remuneration decisions impacting attraction, retention and cost.
  • Deliver analysis and insights to support strategic decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with governance, legislation and internal controls.
  • Partner with P&C, Payroll and Finance on reward processes and systems.

What you’ll bring:

  • 5 - 7 years’ experience in remuneration, reward or benefits-focused roles.
  • Proven experience operating as a subject matter expert with ownership and accountability.
  • Strong capability across salary reviews, benchmarking, and STI/LTI frameworks.
  • Experience preparing Executive and Board-level remuneration insights.
  • Advanced analytical skills, including Excel and HRIS platforms (Dayforce advantageous).
  • The ability to exercise sound judgement, autonomy, and influence senior stakeholders.
  • Experience in complex or multi-entity environments (ASX-listed or retail highly regarded).
  • Tertiary qualification in HR, Business, Finance or a related discipline.

Why Join Michael Hill?

  • Flexibility: Hybrid working with a mix of WFH and office time, plus easy onsite parking.
  • True ownership: A standalone SME role where you lead, not support.
  • Executive exposure: Work directly with senior leaders and influence key decisions.
  • Impact: Shape remuneration frameworks across multiple regions
  • Growth: Build your expertise and expand your scope in a high-visibility role
  • Perks: Staff discounts across our product range, plus access to an exclusive rewards platform offering discounts and cashback. Free Employee Assistance Program.
  • Team: Collaborative, down-to-earth and high-performing People & Culture function.

If you’re looking for a role where you can own the reward agenda, influence at a senior level, and make a tangible impact, this is the opportunity to step up.

Apply now and help shape how we recognise and reward our people.
