The positions require sound technical painting skills, attention to detail and the ability to work safely and efficiently, both independently and as part of a project team.Key responsibilities<ul><li>Erect and safely use ladders, scaffolding and other access equipment, and place drop sheets, masking and protective coverings to protect surrounding areas.&nbsp;</li><li>Prepare surfaces by removing old paint, coatings and wallpaper; cleaning, scraping and sanding surfaces; repairing minor woodwork and plaster defects; filling holes and cracks; and smoothing and sealing surfaces.&nbsp;</li><li>Select and prepare paints to the required colours and finishes, including measuring and mixing pigments, oils, thinners and drying additives where required.&nbsp;</li><li>Apply primers, paints, varnishes, stains and other decorative or protective coatings using brushes, rollers and spray equipment.&nbsp;</li><li>Complete interior and exterior painting work across residential and commercial properties, including walls, ceilings, doors, trims, building exteriors and roofs.&nbsp;</li><li>Apply stains, varnishes and protective coatings to timber decks and other timber surfaces.&nbsp;</li><li>Prepare and apply epoxy and other specialised protective coatings to suitable floor and building surfaces.&nbsp;</li><li>Read and follow plans, specifications, colour schedules and manufacturers’ instructions to achieve the required finish.&nbsp;</li><li>Inspect completed work for coverage, colour consistency and finish quality, and complete any necessary touch-ups or rectification work.&nbsp;</li><li>Clean and maintain painting tools and equipment and leave work areas clean, organised and safe.</li><li>Communicate professionally with clients, supervisors and other trades, and coordinate work to support project timeframes and minimise disruption.</li></ul>About you<ul><li>Certificate III in Painting and Decorating, or an equivalent relevant trade qualification&nbsp;</li><li>At least 12 months of full-time work experience, or the equivalent period of part-time or casual work, as a Painting Trades Worker or in a closely related painting role, including interior and exterior residential and/or commercial painting.</li><li>Demonstrated ability to work independently and deliver quality workmanship</li><li>Strong understanding of WHS/OHS requirements and safe work practices</li><li>White Card (Construction Induction)</li><li>Reliable, punctual, and able to work to deadlines</li></ul>

The Painter will be responsible for the application of paints, coatings and other finishes protecting and decorating a range of materials. This position requires self-discipline, motivation and attention to detail.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <h3>Benefits</h3>38 hr per week plus guaranteed minimum overtime plus superannuation. <h3>Task & responsibilities</h3>TASKS-Masking of areas required for painting.-Mixing two-part paints.-Calculate and add thinners as required.-Calculate layer thicknesses and drying times.-Select paints/coatings based on features and requirements.-Apply paints and coatings using brushes, rollers, and conventional or airless spray guns.-Measure paint thickness using gauges.-Carry out touch ups and repairs where required.-Sanding surfaces and surface preparation.-Erect and use ladders and platforms.-Clean and maintain equipment.-Metal Spraying applications.-Able to apply zinc phosphates, inorganic zinc, epoxies, high build epoxies, polysiloxanes, polyurethanes, fluoropolymertopcoats and intumescent coatings to various surfaces using brushes, sprays and rollers-Work from heights and in confined spaces-Must be able to read plans and instructions-Other duties, which may arise from time to timeRESPONSIBILITIES-100% Work Health &amp; Safety compliance&nbsp;-Take measures to avoid contamination of other paints and materials, including segregating areas or blocking with barriers.-Must have a focus on quality and accuracy-Report non-conformances and assist in resolution-Assist with in process inspection as needed-Report any need for repairs and maintenance of workshop equipment.-Comply with instructions from supervision-Maintain proper time keeping practices-Report any need for repairs and maintenance of workshop equipment.-Ensure all tools are used are safe and are used in a safe manner. <h3>Qualification & experience</h3>- Must have 'Working at Heights' and 'Confined spaces'.- Have or be able to obtain Elevating work platform (Boom, Scissor and Vertical lift(over 11m ) licences and experience.- Minimum Cert III Painting pending experience-Good verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with peers and reading skills is essential.-The applicant must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude.-The ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard of best work practices is a requirement.Cert III or Cert IV plus experience.Minimum 3 years Experience Painting
