Due to continued business growth and expansion, Feddersen Consulting Group (FCG) is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Technical Writer – Compliance Support to join our Brisbane-based team.

FCG is a respected Australian management consultancy headquartered in Brisbane. We partner with organisations across a range of industries to develop, implement and maintain Quality, Environmental, Safety and Information Security Management Systems that meet internationally recognised ISO standards.

About the Role

As a Technical Writer within our Compliance Support team, you will research, develop and maintain professional documentation that supports management systems, compliance frameworks and client requirements.

You will play a key role in transforming technical information into practical, user-friendly documentation that helps clients achieve measurable and sustainable outcomes.

Success in this role requires initiative, strong communication skills, attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.

Key responsibilities include:

What you'll be doing

  • Developing, editing and maintaining management system documentation, including policies, procedures, manuals, work instructions, forms, checklists and templates.

  • Ensuring documentation aligns with relevant standards, including ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001, as well as regulatory and client requirements.

  • Reviewing and improving existing documentation for clarity, consistency, usability and compliance.

  • Applying document control, formatting and version management requirements.

  • Understanding client operations and end-user needs to ensure documentation is practical, relevant and customised.

  • Managing multiple projects and priorities while meeting deadlines and client expectations.

  • Collaborating with consultants, team members and clients to gather information and ensure accurate deliverables.

·       Supporting continuous improvement initiatives through document reviews and process enhancements.

·       Contributing to the ongoing success and growth of both our clients and FCG.

About You

You are someone who takes ownership of your work, enjoys learning new concepts and takes pride in producing accurate, high-quality documentation.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

·       Qualifications in communication, literature, technical writing or a related discipline, or demonstrated experience as a Technical Writer, Documentation Specialist, Quality Assurance professional or similar role.

·       Excellent written communication skills with the ability to produce clear, concise and well-structured documentation.

·       Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving and attention-to-detail skills.

·       Experience with management systems, compliance, risk, quality, safety, environmental or information security documentation (highly regarded).

·       The ability to interpret standards, regulations and technical concepts and translate them into practical documentation.

·       Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

·       Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

·       The ability to work independently while also contributing positively to a collaborative team environment.

·       A willingness to learn, develop professionally and continuously improve your skills.
