The Role:

We are seeking an experienced and driven Coordinator Development Engineering to lead our Development Engineering team.

This is a key leadership role responsible for providing technical expertise, strategic oversight and operational direction in the assessment and delivery of development-related infrastructure. You will ensure engineering outcomes are safe, sustainable and aligned with Council’s long-term planning objectives.

In this role, you will:

• Lead, mentor and develop a team of engineering professionals

• Coordinate and assess development applications across civil infrastructure areas including stormwater, roads and utilities

• Oversee operational works and contributed assets to ensure quality and long-term sustainability

• Provide strategic engineering advice across Council to support planning, infrastructure and growth management

• Engage with developers, consultants and government stakeholders on technical matters

• Contribute to continuous improvement, standards development and planning frameworks

• Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, standards and Council policies

About You:

You are a strong technical leader with a passion for delivering sustainable infrastructure outcomes. You bring a collaborative approach, sound judgement and the ability to lead a high-performing team in a complex regulatory environment.

You will bring:

• A Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) or equivalent qualification, or extensive relevant experience

• Demonstrated leadership experience managing technical teams

• Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles and development assessment processes

• Extensive experience in infrastructure design, planning and delivery

• High-level understanding of legislation, planning instruments and engineering standards

• Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills

• A current C Class Driver Licence

• Annual Salary: $132,079 to $139,066 per annum (QLGIA (Stream A) Level 7 including an above award payment), depending on qualifications, skills and experience.
