Vac Truck Operator / Driver | Civil Construction

GCE Contractors is a growing civil construction, tunnelling and plant hire company operating throughout Queensland and interstate. With an expanding fleet of modern equipment and a strong pipeline of projects, we continue to invest in quality people and equipment.

We have recently added a brand-new Scania Vacuum Excavation Truck to our fleet and are seeking an experienced Vac Truck Operator for an immediate start.

This is a hands-on role involving vacuum excavation, non-destructive digging (NDD), service locating support, drain and pit cleaning, utility works and general civil construction activities.

You will work across a variety of projects throughout Southeast Queensland while operating and maintaining a modern vacuum excavation truck.

• Operate vacuum excavation equipment safely and efficiently

• Carry out non-destructive digging around underground services

• Complete utility, civil and infrastructure works

• Perform daily pre-starts and equipment inspections

• Maintain accurate job records and documentation

• Ensure compliance with site safety requirements and procedures

• Represent GCE Contractors professionally on client sites

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Current HR Driver Licence

• Construction Industry White Card

• Vacuum Excavation Ticket

• Previous experience operating vacuum excavation trucks

• Strong understanding of safe excavation practices around underground services

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

• Reliable work ethic and professional attitude

• Commitment to workplace health and safety

• Jet Rodding experience

• RIW (Rail Industry Worker) card

• Civil construction experience

• Service locating experience

• Confined Space and Working at Heights tickets

• Traffic Management qualifications
