About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Transport Manager to lead daily transport operations within a fast-paced food wholesale and FMCG distribution environment.

You will be responsible for ensuring all deliveries are planned, executed, and delivered safely, on time, and within budget, while driving operational efficiency, compliance, and service excellence.

This is a hands-on leadership role overseeing transport planning, fleet performance, driver management, and continuous improvement across the distribution function.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and coordinate daily and weekly delivery routes and schedules

  • Manage end-to-end transport operations and shipment execution

  • Oversee fleet maintenance, compliance, and asset performance

  • Lead, coach, and manage drivers and transport/dispatch teams

  • Manage rostering, workload allocation, and 3PL coordination

  • Monitor transport costs, fuel usage, and delivery efficiency

  • Drive on-time delivery, accuracy, and customer service performance

  • Ensure full compliance with CoR, HVNL, WHS, and food safety standards

  • Manage transport incidents, driver issues, and operational escalations

  • Use transport systems and tracking tools to monitor and improve performance

  • Identify and implement process and cost improvement initiatives

About You

  • 3–5+ years’ experience in transport, logistics, or FMCG distribution

  • Proven experience in a Transport Manager or senior supervisory role

  • Strong knowledge of route planning, fleet operations, and dispatch

  • Experience working within Chain of Responsibility (CoR) environments

  • Background in food wholesale, FMCG, or perishable goods highly regarded

  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced, high-volume environment

Skills & Requirements

  • Transport Management Systems (TMS) experience

  • Strong Excel and reporting capability

  • Knowledge of HVNL, CoR, WHS, and HACCP standards

  • Fleet tracking / GPS systems experience

  • HR or HC licence highly regarded

  • Flexible availability for operational requirements
