Flex Fitness Equipment is Australia and New Zealand's growing premium fitness equipment retailer. Over thirteen years we've built six stores across WA, SA, QLD and NZ, a team of fifty, and a commercial division supplying gyms, studios and athletes nationwide. We're known for end-to-end service: space design, equipment selection, and white-glove delivery and installation by industry professionals.

We're opening our second Queensland store in Brendale, northside Brisbane — and we're looking for the person to lead it.

About the Role

This is a new-store opening. You'll launch the Brendale showroom, recruit and train the team, and set the standard for how Flex shows up in northside Brisbane. You'll have the full backing of our QLD area leadership and Wangara head office — and the autonomy to run the store as your own.

You'll report to our Area Manager East and work alongside our Slacks Creek (southside Brisbane) team. As we continue opening stores across the east coast, you'll be first in line for what's next.

What You'll Own

Team. Recruit, train and lead a small, high-performing team. Set the culture from day one — confident, knowledgeable, approachable. Develop your sales staff into commercial-grade operators.

Customers. Deliver an in-store experience that earns five-star reviews and repeat business. Advise home, commercial and studio customers across our full range. Own the showroom, the phones, and every quote that leaves the store.

Operations. Manage stock accuracy, deliveries, banking and reconciliations, showroom presentation, and local reporting. Use our systems (Cin7, Shopify, Detrack) and lean on our established processes.

Growth. Hit your sales targets and push past them. Build local relationships across PTs, allied health, gyms and commercial fit-outs. Identify what's working in your market and feed it back to the broader business.

About You

• 3+ years in retail leadership — Store Manager, 2IC ready to step up, or comparable specialty retail experience

• Genuine sales drive — you've carried a target and consistently exceeded it

• Confident leading a small team and holding people accountable

• Available across a five-day roster including one weekend day each week

• Full Australian working rights, current driver's licence, reliable transport

Preferred — not essential (training provided where needed):

• Familiarity with Cin7, Shopify, Excel, Gmail, and Meta/Google ad platforms

• Comfort working with AI tools (Claude, Claude Code, ChatGPT) — we use AI extensively across the business

• Experience in fitness, sports, automotive, or premium specialty retail

• Understanding of bulk/heavy goods logistics

• Prior new-store opening experience

The Roster

Five-day week — Monday to Friday with one weekend day each week (rostered Saturday or Sunday, with a weekday off in lieu).

Store hours:

• Monday-Friday: 9am-5pm

• Saturday: 9am-4pm

• Sunday: 10am-4pm
