Paradise Timbers is a family-owned business that has been supplying quality timber products for over 40 years. We are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented person to join our team and learn the specialised role of CNC tooling manufacture for the timber moulding industry.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with computers, machinery, precision measurements, and technical problem-solving. Full training will be provided.
You will be trained to operate a 4-axis CNC grinder used to manufacture and sharpen cutting tools for timber moulding machines. You will also learn to set cutters into knife heads and assist in developing tooling solutions for custom timber profiles.
As your skills and experience develop, you will become responsible for managing this specialised area of our operation and will work independently for much of the time.
Operate a 4-axis CNC grinding machine
Set and assemble cutters into moulding machine knife heads
Read and interpret profile drawings and technical information
Create and modify tooling profiles
Perform precision measurements and quality checks
Maintain tooling records and machine settings
Work closely with production staff to achieve quality outcomes
Strong attention to detail
Good computer skills
Technically minded with strong problem-solving abilities
Good understanding of measurements and geometry
Reliable, self-motivated and organised
Able to work independently once trained
Looking for a long-term career opportunity
Experience with CAD software or technical drawing would be advantageous but is not essential.
