GBV designs and builds advanced heavy vehicles including buses, coaches, and trucks powered by electric, hydrogen, and diesel technologies. Our vehicles are manufactured locally in a production environment with a strong focus on quality, safety, and continuous improvement.

We’re seeking a hands-on Workshop Technician to join our team, responsible for building and preparing buses for delivery to customers across Australia.
This role is ideal for someone with a passion for heavy vehicles, a strong commitment to quality workmanship, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced workshop environment.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Assembling and fitting components, accessories, and equipment to new buses.

  • Carrying out mechanical, electrical, and general workshop fit-out work.

  • Completing repairs and rectification work identified during inspections and testing.

  • Installing customer-specific options and modifications to meet delivery requirements.

  • Testing and checking completed work to ensure quality and functionality.

  • Troubleshooting and resolving fitment, mechanical, and electrical issues as they arise.

  • Working closely with the workshop team to meet production and delivery deadlines.

  • Maintaining tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and safe condition.

  • Completing basic workshop documentation and quality records.

  • Assisting with vehicle movements and general workshop duties when required.

  • Following all workplace health and safety requirements.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience in a workshop, manufacturing, automotive, body building, or similar environment.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and practical problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.

  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn.

  • Auto electrical, mechanical, fabrication, or bus industry experience will be highly regarded.
