Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Mechanic

Kempster Commercial Refrigeration (KCR) is a proud Mackay (locally owned and operated) organisation. Established for 45 years, KCR serve a well-established client base in the Mackay-Whitsunday and Coalfield areas. Our core business is commercial refrigeration and air conditioning in supermarkets, cold stores, clubs, commercial enterprises and coal facilities.

We are currently seeking a permanent Refrigeration / Air Conditioning Mechanics or dual trade Electrician to join our team. Third and Fourth Year apprentices will also be considered. The positions are:

The successful applicants will be servicing a wide range of Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Equipment. Initial work would be commercial air conditioning service work.

Reporting to the Service Manager, the successful applicant must have:

Current and Valid:      

• Refrigerant Handling Licence (ARCtick);

• Trade Certification in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning (or working towards);

• Restricted Electrical Licence (as a minimum);

• Construction White Card;

• Motor Vehicle licence (able to drive a manual vehicle);

• QBCC Licence; and

• Australian Residency or Current Work Visa

of advantage would be:

• Air Conditioning installation and repair experience;

• BMS experience; 

• BMA Core Induction or Standard 11 Coal Surface Induction; and

• Mine site experience

and        

• Strong self-motivation and an ability to work well unsupervised;

• Good communication & customer service skills;

• Good work ethics;

• Be well presented and take pride in their work; and

• Commercial air conditioning experience required.
