Our well-respected client is a long-established Townsville engineering workshop specialising in heavy diesel engine reconditioning, precision machining, and full component overhaul services. With a strong reputation across the mining, transport, agriculture, earthmoving and local government sectors, the workshop is consistently busy with varied and ongoing work.

This is a modern, well-equipped facility featuring advanced machining capabilities and computerised engine dynamometer testing. Due to continued growth and workload demand, they are seeking additional skilled tradespeople to join their team.

Positions Available

🔧 Engine Reconditioning Machinist

We are seeking a tradesperson experienced in, or willing to develop skills in:

• Cylinder block machining, repair and sleeving
• Conrod pin fitting and resizing
• Crankshaft grinding and linishing
• Cylinder head pressure testing and crack detection
• Valve seat insert replacement and valve refacing
• General precision machining within engine rebuilds

🚜 Heavy Diesel / Earthmoving Equipment Fitter

• Diagnosis, servicing and full component overhauls
• Work across earthmoving, mining and heavy transport equipment
• Strong mechanical fault-finding and diagnostic ability essential
• Experience with hydraulic and drivetrain systems highly regarded

⚙️ Engine Dyno Technician / Operator

• Engine testing and dyno operation using modern computerised systems
• Performance, durability and post-rebuild testing
• Accurate data recording and interpretation
• Ensuring engines meet required specifications and standards

• Trade qualified or highly experienced in a relevant field
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and within a skilled team
• Willingness to learn and develop advanced technical skills
